I visited this office about a year ago and initially assumed my experience was an isolated incident (I understand medical care providers can have off days - we're all human). Recently, I considered giving this office a second chance, but after reading more recent reviews, it is concerning to see a clear and consistent pattern of similar complaints involving the same Physician Assistant I saw, with the same issues being repeatedly raised. This reflects a failure to uphold a patient-centered approach to care - not only by the provider, but by the organization as a whole. Patients deserve to be heard and respected. I appreciate those who have advocated for themselves publicly to raise awareness. This solidifies my decision not to return. If you experience this pattern, it’s reasonable to seek care elsewhere or report concerns to the Texas Medical Board.

A genuinely horrible experience today at Westlake Dermatology with Eden. I've never had an appointment with her before for the skin checks I get every year, and she gave 0 effort to establish a patient relationship. She was rude and had horrible delivery and commentary while doing my skin check, and made me feel belittled and uncomfortable. Not only that, but after she and her assistant left the room along with my mom for me to change, the door was opened on me changing in an effort to clear the room, with ZERO knocking or alerting. This experience was incredibly violating, rushed, and rude for an appointment that was already running 25 minutes behind.

I came in with a skin issue that had been bothering me for over a year and had never been fully resolved despite seeing other dermatologists. PA Eden truly went above and beyond—she took the time to listen, was incredibly thorough, and made me feel like a priority rather than just another patient. I finally felt heard and well cared for. I highly recommend her.

I rarely write reviews, but my experience with Westlake Dermatology Round Rock has been extremely disappointing, both medically and financially. From my very first appointment, I could tell something was off. The doctor didn’t even bother to inspect my skin. The clinic appears far more focused on cosmetic procedures like Botox and chemical peels than on diagnosing or treating genuine dermatologic conditions. When I later requested to see another provider, I was told it would be a free visit, yet I still received a bill in the mail. After multiple calls, I finally got it waived, but the frustration didn’t stop there. For five years, I kept returning, trying to get answers for a persistent, itchy scalp and rash that clearly responded to things I tried at home. Despite describing obvious infection-like symptoms, I was repeatedly misdiagnosed with “dry scalp,” “rosacea,” and even a neuro-itching disorder (prurigo nodularis) This neuro disorder insinuates by the Doctor Assistant EDEN was the the most frustrating because they were saying I was inflicting the rash and lesions myself by scratching! Completely opposite of anything I told them. She was just straight up NOT LISTENING. During that entire time, not once was I offered antibiotics or steroids. When I finally saw a different provider elsewhere, they were shocked and asked why those basic treatments were never tried, I could have been cured years ago. The financial side was equally unacceptable. At my most recent visit, I specifically requested a biopsy or culture and made it clear I was paying cash. Before agreeing to the procedure, I asked for the total cost and was quoted $260 for the visit, biopsy, and reading. Later, I received a surprise bill for an additional $110 because they said they “needed to run it again.” I was never informed or asked for authorization. If I had known the real cost would approach $400, I would have gone elsewhere. As the director of two medical clinics, I can say confidently: this is not how ethical healthcare operates. Patients should receive transparent pricing, accurate diagnoses, and providers who actually listen and examine them, not surprise bills and superficial attention. My experience at Westlake Dermatology Round Rock was stressful, costly, and entirely avoidable. Patients with real medical skin conditions deserve compassion, competence, and honesty — not to be brushed off in favor of cosmetic profits. If you’re seeking real medical care, look elsewhere. And if you do go, get every cost in writing before you agree to anything.

Dr. Sandoval is super caring and concerned about my Psoriasis. She has helped my condition greatly since I started seeing her. I would recommend her to anybody who may need a physician that takes action AND cares about her patients.
