Chestnut Hills Dental Pittsburgh Sq. Hill

I scheduled an appointment three months in advance labeled "New Patient Exam & Cleaning" on the Chestnut Hills Squirrel Hill website (there are different websites for the different offices). Two days before my appointment, I receive a text saying that my appointment would just be for an x-ray and exam but no cleaning. I called to clarify, since I had specifically booked a cleaning appointment. They informed me that all new patients had to have an exam first to determine the type of cleaning needed, since they offer six different cleanings. I have never had to book a cleaning separate from an exam before with any other dentistry. 1) If this is their policy, they shouldn't let new patients have the option to book a cleaning and 2) this didn't make sense since in the same phone call, they said that they can only offer cleanings if they have a last-minute cancellation (so they DO have the ability to offer cleanings to new patients). They asked me if I had booked my appointment over the phone or on the website, and when I said I booked on the website they said that the website goes through an auto scheduler and doesn't schedule cleanings, and I should have called to book a cleaning if that's what I wanted. HUH? If that is their practice, they should clearly state that on the website at the time of booking, not two days before the appointment. They obviously have this issue often if they need to clarify it in their confirmation texts. When I asked when the next cleaning would be, they said they were booking at least 6 months in advance - so I would have to wait 9 months for a cleaning from when I originally booked, and have to make a second separate appointment for it. I just scheduled a full new patient appointment at a different dentistry practice for cleaning, exam and x-rays next week and will never be booking with Chestnut Hills again.

I had my teeth cleaned on 10/28. The whole cleaning process took less than 10 minutes. That 10 minutes including the hygienist reviewing my history on the computer and several minutes rinsing my mouth. The bill was over $200. When the doctor came to do the final check, I complained that I didn't feel my teeth were cleaned. The doctor asked the hygienist to re-polish my teeth and asked me back" Are you happy now?" I then got another polish- maybe 2 minutes. I was very disappointed. I definitely didn't have the special smooth and cleaned teeth feel which I used to get. This was my second time at CHESTNUT HILLS since my move. The first time they spent over 20 minutes persuading me to do $5000 invisalign. What's more is my first review after the cleaning was never published. Go figure. This is my second review after 4 times phone call trying to contact the branch manager but either never got a call back or was unavailable. It may be taken off by them again. Anyway, worst experience ever.

Chestnut Hills Dental is second to none. The attention to detail and care you receive is unmatched. When scheduling an appointment you do not have to wait at all. They get you in and out without compromising the service being rendered. My Dental hygienist has been the very best during teeth cleaning procedures as she has been very responsive and gentle during my visits. All the dentist at this practice have been great to work with. Convenient location with parking directly across the street. If you are looking for a practice to treat your dental needs then I would seriously consider Chestnut Hills Dental in Squirrel Hill.

I went in for a cleaning on Wednesday, arrived on time and went to the counter to let them know I had arrived. The young woman who asked my name did so with no greeting or smile. I remember feeling dismissed after she found my appointment. I was very pleased with my hygienist, who was pleasant, professional and helpful. All in all a good visit, but whomever it is that greets patients should do so with a pleasant and welcoming demeanor.

They caused severe and permanent gum damage at a routine cleaning that has caused me constant pain for the last 3 years. My final straw was when the doctor became EXTREMELY pushy about doing cosmetic botox on me - I can understand why they are doing dental botox but when I told her I go to an actual aesthetic medical center for that she became argumentative. It was absolutely bizarre.
