I survived the hygienist chair and lived to smile about it — thanks to Shanna! She was informative, pleasant, and somehow managed to keep the pain to a minimum while tending to my admittedly inflamed mouth (self-inflicted, in case you were wondering). She walked me through what she was doing like a dental tour guide, which made the whole thing feel oddly reassuring. Tech nerds will approve: they use a flashy air-water-powder jet to blast away plaque and stains. It felt a bit like a tiny, polite sandstorm for my teeth — efficient and oddly satisfying. The only thing that made me wince more than my own gums was the Barry Manilow soundtrack on repeat; gorgeous dental work, questionable musical choices. Waiting time is mercifully short — patients rarely wait more than five minutes — and the office is decorated with acrylic glass prints of Twin Cities lakes, which gave me something lovely to stare at while recovering from the Manilow-induced trauma. Dr. Hoverson gets top marks for fixing the mess left by my previous dentist: most (if not all) of the substandard crowns and fillings have been replaced. She explains problems clearly and offers sensible options that balance cost and effectiveness, which made decision-making painless (or at least less painful than my gums). The vibe here is relaxed but professional, largely thanks to the positive chemistry among the staff and Dr. Hoverson. After years of dental uncertainty, it’s a relief to finally feel confident in my dentist. Would recommend — bring headphones if you have strong feelings about 1970s soft rock.
