Semper Laser

I have been going here since July 2025 and it was the best investment to make. The lasers work very well for ethnic hair and you will definitely see the results as long as you keep up the maintenance! The pricing is very reasonable and they are always running specials. Destiny does my treatments and she is wonderful! Definitely make sure you are at least 10 minutes early because there is no grace period at all. Or at least call if you are running late so they can bump your time back.

I have had a great experience at Semper in Plaza Midwood!! Angelina is so great! She’s super thorough and always fun to chat with! I’d highly recommend getting laser hair removal here!

Just a warning — don’t be late, even by a few minutes. If you are, it’s better to reschedule all your areas because they’ll only treat everything in the same visit. There’s zero flexibility, which is tough with Charlotte traffic. My appointment was at 9:00 a.m., and I left at 8:15 for what’s usually a 21-minute drive. It took me over 45 minutes, and being just a few minutes late meant they only did my bikini line and refused my lip and chin. So now I have to wait another two months to get my lip and chin. They won’t separate appts. I understand policies, but there’s no grace period at all. I’ll finish my current package, but I won’t add new services because the scheduling policy is just too strict. I chuckled when they asked for a tip…A tip means you go over and beyond for the customer. I was done at 9:17, they took me back at 9:10. Next customer was at 9:25. My lip and chin take less than 5 minutes. Completing all areas would have rendered a tip.

⭐️⭐️ 2 stars. 1 star for getting this cat bald. 1 star for that machine that blasts cold air while lasering. -3 stars for customer service. You mean to tell me there’s a grace period to board a plane, but not to show up for a service I’m spending thousands on — one that requires me to prep my skin like royalty for weeks before the appointment? (No sun, no waxing, no acids, etc.) Not to mention the two month wait between sessions. And after all that pampering, I’m 10 minutes late in the rain during rush hour, and your response is to reschedule. If you’re new to laser, that word has fists. No. Find a space, honey. Unless you’re booked tighter than a mobile game — “Laser Hair Salon Story,” if you will — and you’ve got a new client every two minutes, there’s no reason you can’t show a little flexibility. And please stop referencing “the contract” like it’s a gotcha moment. If you really want to enforce this policy, perhaps include it in one of the reminder messages you already send before each appointment, set it on the front desk, or plaster it on the door. Save us all the inconvenience.

An FYI post: I truly enjoy laser over waxing, sugaring or any other method, and this is coming from someone who has literally tried it all, as I loathe any body hair. It’s not messy like waxing or sugaring nor smelly and poisonous like a depilatory cream (i.e. Nair), even though you may smell the faint smell of burnt hair, it’s very very faint, and the pain is pretty tolerable. On a scale of 1-10, it’s maybe a 3 or 4, for intimate areas like the labia majora, perineum and a 5 or 6 for the inner buttock area, if you are curious on how that’s feeling versus a wax or sugaring. The big toes, always are a little spicier for me, like a 6 1/2. The pain is like a quick pop of a rubber band and a quick cooling from the laser, immediately afterwards. So, you aren’t sore or having any pin prick bleeding after. As a sensitive skin girly. I always ask for hydrocortisone (complimentary) to be rubbed on to prevent me from breaking out in hives after the session, as you may experience a histamine reaction. Now for the cons: you have to shave at least 24-48 hours before the service but, once you get into a steady routine of going (you go about every 6-8 weeks which means less time you have to be obligated to an appointment) you’ll will wish you had done it sooner! And as you go along, there will be less and less to shave. You also have to refrain from wearing any lotion or deodorant the day of the appointment so, if you are doing your entire body and your skin is bone dry like mine, it’s gonna be a very ashy appointment! There is no lateness, so if you cannot be punctual or in fact early, you might as well, miss this service and come back when you can be on time, especially for parking, as it can be a little tough depending on the location. The appointments run exactly on time which can be a plus, if you have other obligations. The rooms are also cool, so just be prepared for the cool air on your exposed body as you go through the motions. Remember to also be honest about the use of any toners, serums or supplements so you aren’t getting a bad reaction from the laser, so you may have to skip a body part. Overall, the receptionists at both Semper locations in Charlotte are always very friendly and helpful and the laser technicians are super friendly and informative as well. I hope this helps for the curious minds like myself and once you laser and factor in the cost of waxing or sugaring versus laser from literal face to feet, the cost just makes sense! Ask plenty of questions before totally committing to be sure this is for you, they are glad to answer, as it is an investment, price wise and commitment wise.
