I, a loyal customer of over ten years, tried to book a late evening appointment as I've always done. After initially declining a 6:30 PM slot, I changed my mind and tried calling back, but my calls were repeatedly not being answered. I was in the area and decided to drive to the business hoping to get that last slot, I called again as I pulled up and witnessed the person whom I found out is the owner actually look at the phone to establish the caller before ignoring 'my' call, this is very unusual for the business. They always take calls and inform us when slots for the day are all gone. I immediately walked in and asked why they weren't answering and particularly why she looked at the ID and ignored my call. What followed was the most absurd encounter I've ever had with a business. Obviously caught in the act, the owner seemingly unnerved by my questions reacted abruptly and rudely, claiming they were "fully booked" and don't pick up calls when all slots are taken. Huh?... When I pressed further for her to see the fallacy of her statement providing a scenario asking where I had wanted to book for the following day, she told me that I could leave a message. When I countered that they rarely reply to messages and asked if she would have replied to mine, she pointedly answered, "maybe" while in the same breath asking me to leave. When I pressed her further on her inconsistent response, she became further agitated, and proceeded to amplify the situation and falsely accuse me of "yelling and disrupting" her business, at this point she actually placed her hand on the phone, and threatened to call the police, effectively forcing me out subsequently. Before being walked out, while in my state of disbelief and confusion, I tried to ask a finishing customer and her employee to confirm if I was yelling, but they avoided entering the conflict understandably. When I challenged the owner and staff to be truthful about the alleged "yelling" appealing to the sacredness of any belief system they possess, the owner became even more agitated and told me not to bring religion into it. Fair enough. It's crucial to note the difference between the yelling that she tried to accuse me of in this instance which is defined as: shouting to express anger or displeasure in a raised, temper filled rampage versus the assertive questioning that occured. She falsely accused me of the former and was ready to use that false information in a police report! Unbelievable! We have seen this play out repeatedly in media where innocent actions are perceived as threats due to inherent unconscious bias of others. I want to make a point that this is not to stain the business, as I have had good services here from the staff. However, to be walked out, by this person whom at a point I began to wonder if there was an encounter I've ever had with her, and have one of her masseuses stationed at the door locking it, as if my puny little self posed a threat, was a first ever for me. Special mention, I watched her say something to a customer and her staff as I got in my car obviously directed at me, and she laughed. How sad! even more so because I have been a loyal customer who has referred many here, even brought many out of town guests here! It's a huge disappointment to me. The hostile, and disproportionate reaction towards me revealed a lot ( and yes I understand that they try to maintain quiet in the space) however, I was falsely accused and believe the owner demonstrated serious unconscious bias and poor judgment that resulted in me being treated as if I was a threat which was so absurd. It was an embarrassing incident that I hope I never get to experience ever. I was loyal to the business for over a decade, but when I reminded her of this, she simply told me, paraphrasing "then don't come back anymore." obviously I will never return to her establishment. I only feel it's proper to document this most absurd experience and ask the owner to do and be better.

Let me start off by saying that the masseuse was great! Most of my complaints don’t have anything to do with the actual massage. During my massage I was freezingggg omg. I’m used to being on a heated bed during my massages so that was unfortunate. I don’t know about yall but I live for the hot stones and they were only used on my back during this massage rather than my whole body… and since I was already cold as heck I was really looking forward to the hot stones. Moving on, we were placed in the room closest to the door and baby I heard every car and person that went by. So everytime I drifted into bliss I was abruptly pulled away lol. Sooo yeah all in all It wasn’t a completely serene experience but again the masseuse was good

My second time visiting Midtown Reflexology. The staff is friendly. I had a muscle knot and my back was aching bad. It's clear the muscle knot has reduced in size and my back pain is 50% gone. They have lavender towelettes to use in case you sweat before the appointment. This is the place people if you want a nice relaxed day💆🏾.

***WARNING: If you are looking for a place that offers genuine reflexology, avoid this place!!!*** I recently visited Midtown Reflexology and had a terrible experience. I went in looking for reflexology, but what I received was far from it. Initially, I was misled by their package deal which included both a massage and reflexology (Soul to Soul). The first red flag was being required to pay upfront before the appointment. I asked if they would be able to work on my hands and feet, explaining my issues with pain. The lady said yes. I proceeded to pay since I needed relief from hand pain and my usual reflexologist had moved away. When I arrived for my appointment the next day, the same lady who had initially assisted me led me to the room. Being my first visit, I wasn’t familiar with their routine, and she didn’t provide any guidance. The masseuse came in and had me begin soaking my feet in water, then she started massaging my scalp and hands. One of my primary concerns was my hand pain, and I expected targeted reflexology to relieve the tension. Unfortunately, the service was more like a gentle hand rub, and she pulled on my fingers. Feeling confused and unsatisfied, I stopped the session to clarify if what she was doing was reflexology. She claimed it was, but the experience didn’t align with my previous reflexology sessions (at other places). When I expressed my concerns, she went and got the lady from the front, who, while speaking to her, was visibly upset! I explained what I came there for and what reflexology was. Had to de-escalate from how flustered she looked. She spoke with the lady who was giving the massage and directed her to spend more time on my hands and feet and decrease the time on my back. The lady continued, but she still had no idea what she was doing. I tell you, my nail tech does a better job massaging my hands! This lady had no experience in reflexology or massage therapy—it showed from my hands to my feet, and she used her knuckles on my neck the entire time. Not sure if she was upset, but she was quite aggressive on my neck with her knuckles—it felt like retaliation. At the end, I asked the lady in the front if they had certified people working there, and her response was, “They don’t have to be certified in the state of Texas to do reflexology.” But in the room, when she was upset and I asked her about what I paid for, she said a massage with reflexology. So, any person can do reflexology, and she isn’t a certified masseuse. What in the world—explains so much! The session was awkward, particularly when she asked me to remove my top in the session. This felt unnecessary and uncomfortable since they decided I would not be having my back done (Door doesn’t close all the way). The overall experience was extremely disappointing and far from professional. This place does not offer authentic reflexology and is not worth your time or money. I strongly advise doing thorough research and considering other options before choosing a reflexology service. I have no clue how they have good reviews. Save yourself the hassle and find a certified, professional reflexologist elsewhere. Date was 7/19/2024
