I wouldn’t trust my skin to anyone else After searching for an aesthetician who would understand my rosacea, I found Lidia. From my first visit ten years ago, I was hooked. I was thrilled to see my skin rejuvenated and glowing. My skin has vastly improved over time and I feel comfortable as I age. Not only is Lidia an expert in skincare, she is a wise and compassionate person. It is a rare treat to practice self care in a truly calm and non-judgemental environment.

Lydia quite literally changed my life, she is truly that incredible, special and talented...if you want the best facial in Chicago (i.e.immediate results and improvement to your skin), Lydia is the only choice. There is no one better. I came to Lydia with severe hormonal acne and was very hesitant about getting any type of facial due to the reactivity of my skin. I had been struggling with severe acne for over a year. The first time I saw Lydia, I was so upset/embarrassed about my skin that I begged for her help after reading all her five-star reviews (all of them true). Lydia sat down with me for over an hour, listening to all of my concerns so patiently and told me we would figure it out together, and reassured me my skin would heal. She was right. I didn't even need to tell her the type of facial I wanted, Lydia looked at my skin and knew exactly what to do. I am not exaggerating when I say the next day my skin had already improved drastically, all of my active acne spots were healed within a couple of days. I've seen Lydia once a month since, and she is the only reason my skin healed. I won't see anyone else. Lydia's studio is also lovely. It is the ultimate, spa-like experience. If Lydia alone wasn't worth the visit, the relaxing/soothing space she provides during the facial is one more reason you should book a facial at Authentic Skin. Most importantly, Lydia is a beautiful person -- so kind, smart, knowledgable, warm and patient. No matter what you are seeing her for, you will be in the absolute best hands. I am so grateful to have found her!

I have had an amazing experience with Lidia. I was so nervous about getting a facial for the first time, but she put me at ease. My skin has transformed with her treatments - my skin is smoother and brighter, and I don’t even need to wear foundation anymore. She does great with darker skin tones - I have never had any hyperpigmentation after her treatments. A colleague from work referred me to her, and when my friends visit from out of town, they also ask me to schedule appointments with her! Such a treasure and so kind on top of providing a wonderful service. I will be coming to her as long as I am living in Chicago.

So grateful to have found Lidia! I initially started waxing at home, which generally took up an entire day and was a frustrating, exhausting, painful process. After a few months of thinking it would get faster over time, I realized it was time to let a professional take over. And I’m so glad I did!! What used to take up half my weekend Lidia can get done in under 1 hour (and with WAY less pain)! In addition to saving the time and eliminating stress, Lidia is an absolute joy to spend time with. I genuinely look forward to seeing her for a wax and am a little sad I’m at the point where I can stretch from 4 weeks to 6 weeks! Very excited to give her facials a try as well as this was something that made me choose her over other waxing specialists. If you’re on the fence, I truly cannot recommend enough that you go for it and book the waxing session!
