Northwestern Med Spa River North

I received a hand-sweating Botox treatment at Northwest Med Spa River North, and I was very pleased with that. Robyn Tong is my physician assistant, who injected Botox into my hands. I have had two treatments at Med Spa under Robyn Tong and have always been satisfied. Robyn is very professional, skilled, caring, warm, patient, and considerate. The treatment was painful to me, but Robyn tried to help me reduce pain and reassure me during the Botox injection process. I felt very comfortable, familiar, and at ease under Robyn Tong's treatment. She considered combining Botox injections and medication for me to get better treatment results and reduce the dosage of Botox injections. She offered honest advice for the best results and savings. I feel very comfortable approaching Robyn to ask about treatment, medication, prices, or to schedule an appointment. Also, I like the room space where I got the treatment, as well as the overall space of Med Spa River North. It was very clean and aesthetically pleasing. I always feel very comfortable, welcomed, and relaxed at Med Spa.

I received a MOXI laser treatment at the River North location in April, performed by an aesthetician named Gina. Unfortunately, I was burned in three places during the treatment. When I raised my concerns, I was told it was an “allergic reaction” to the numbing cream. That explanation didn’t sit right with me, so I went to a board-certified dermatologist here in Chicago who confirmed these were burns, not an allergic reaction. Instead of offering accountability, NSPS only provided a lightening cream. I was especially disappointed that they misrepresented the cause of the burns instead of being transparent. My dermatologist also emphasized that laser services should only ever be performed by a medical professional, not an aesthetician. I wish I had known this beforehand. I’m sharing my experience to caution others—please be careful before booking a laser treatment here, and think twice about having it done by someone without the proper medical credentials. I now have permanent dark scarring on my face, I deeply regret coming here.

If you’re looking for someone who is knowledgeable, experienced, and intuitive with the needle then go see Brittany!! She is hands down the best. I took my mom to see her for a consultation with hopes to fix a facial injury, she took the time to really listen and give her honest opinion on what would be best for treatment. After a very thorough consult, they landed on a plan for filler to improve her injury and help her feel like herself again. This treatment literally brought tears to my mom’s eyes and brought her confidence back! So go so Brittany for all of the treatments, you won’t regret it!
