I received laser hair treatment for my underarm area and ended up with permanent scarring. My last sessions was done by Juanita instead of Mindy who I started with laser treatments with. I was told there were notes on the settings so that it would be the same power as we were using before. I am a person of color so I burn easily and scar easily. I felt comfortable since Mindy (who is no longer employed there) had a lot of experience doing treatments on darker skin. When I started the session with Juanita I knew right away it did not feel the same. There was no gel placed before using the laser (which can help with burns). It was very painful. I asked her to turn down the setting. She did but ensured me that it was the same setting I was doing previously. I managed to get through the appointment but asked her to turn it down multiple times. I left in pain but the blisters didn’t appear until the next day. They were extremely painful and peeled. I was wearing bandages under my arms for a month. I was offered a refund for my one unused session and received two sessions of scar reducing/ brightening treatment which didn’t help. I waited to write the review to see how the area would heal but now that I’m 6 months out I am realizing I will forever have dark pigmentation and scarring from the treatment. Beware about laser hair treatments here! Especially if you have dark skin.
