I booked this massage to help with some pain I’ve been having in my shoulders since having my baby. Mason asked what my problem areas were and spent what I felt like was at least half of the time in those areas. The complimentary drink and the oils scents were very nice and an extra touch to help relax. The cherry on top is the steam shower… including this with the massage implies to me the owners and therapist really want you to have an enjoyable experience. Would highly recommend Mason and Longevity and will be certainly return in the future!

My second massage at Longevity was with Lora. I high hopes since she seemed highly sought after; I had to book the massage more than a month out. Before the massage began I casually doublechecked with her to make sure she had read my note about wanting hot stones and a deep tissue massage. She emphatically told me there was no note written and told me the stones weren’t heated up. I later checked with the lady at the front desk and she said there actually was a note about this and she didn’t know why Lora hadn’t read it. Lora was not slightly apologetic about her oversight. I then told Lora my back was the main area I wanted massaged and that I would love to have the knots worked out. She spent 75 minutes of a 90 minute massage working on every area except my back. I saw the time when I went to the bathroom and that’s when I realized I had only 15 min left of this massage and she had not even begun working on my back. In the beginning when I was talking to her about wanting a deep tissue massage I casually (almost jokingly) told her that if I was sore the next day I would be happy. She sharply told me this wasn’t good and that I shouldn’t be sore after a deep tissue massage. But then ironically she did the massage way too hard and I was in pain within an hour of the massage. Not just the normal soreness but actual pain. I’ve had about 15 deep tissue massages in my life but this was a first. During the massage I did let her know she was hurting me and she did not apologize. But at that point she did proceed to do the rest of the massage way too soft. The only time she asked if the pressure she was using was correct was in the last 5 minutes of the massage. That should have been clarified in the very beginning. I also let Lora know as the massage was beginning that I was cold asked if the heated bed was heated up as much as it could be. She said yes and that it was brand new and proceeded to start the massage. I asked if I could be given an extra blanket and she was clearly very put out by this but reluctantly got one for me. She didn’t respond when I told her thank you. But what she did say was that I must love the 97 degree heat outside. I was cold the entire massage. I literally had goosebumps on my legs and I know she could feel how cold my hands and feet were but she never checked to make sure I was a good temperature. After my massage with Lora I was asked at the front desk how my massage was. I said to be honest it was disappointing and I explained why. The owner, Mary, had me pay in full for this 90 minute massage but she said my next 90 minute massage would be complimentary. I had previously scheduled a 90 minute massage with Kay Kay more than 2 months in advance because that’s how far out she was booked. Without asking if I was ok with this- Mary reschedule my massage to be with Ellie instead of Kay Kay. I scheduled the massage with Kay Kay intentionally because Kay Kay is specialized in deep tissue and hot stone massage which is exactly what I had requested for each of my massages. Ellie on the other hand- according to the website doesn’t specialize in either of these. Mary was polite enough but didn’t apologize for the bad experience I had with Lora. She did let me know she would talk with Lora about it though, which I did appreciate. Also, when I was there the facilities needed a bit of work- with a some ceiling tiles missing and the lock broken on the locker room area where they tell you to change. I walked in on a woman changing because I didn’t know anyone was in there and she apologized and said the lock didn’t work. Men and women use the same locker room and showers- not at the same time- but the lock is definitely needed. (The picture posted with the review shows what was hanging above the door of Lora’s room.)

Edit: I had a follow up massage at the other location yesterday and it was really a very different experience compared to the time before. They most definitely made up for that experience. Ricki did an amazing job on her massage and was very attentive and polite. Edit: After speaking with Travis, the owner I’m changing my review to 5 stars because of how fast he was with reaching out to us in regards to the review. The level of professionalism was very nice to experience after this massage. I will give Longevity another try because they have gone above and beyond to make sure this situation gets handled and the customer leaves happy. I truly hope that Lora is ok, and was just having a bad day. Thank you again Travis for explaining the other review and for reaching out to us to make sure all was well, and to get a deeper understanding of what occurred. I really wanted to enjoy this experience but I left lacking a wonderful experience. Lora was my therapist, I’m not sure if she was having an off day or if this was her normal behavior. She just didn’t give you that warm welcome I’ve received other times and at other places. This was a birthday gift from my wife. I was so excited, but felt like I was a burden. She opened the door to the lounge area and seemed a bit stern, I brushed it off. We are all allowed off days. She showed me the oils I could pick out. Then when we got into the room with the overhead lights on she asked what I’d like done. I explained that I’d love the focus to be on my back and neck. And the rest just to be brief with. Her reply was short, telling me it’s only a 60 min massage. Ok I’m aware. So I laid down with the overhead lights in my face and she knocks to come back in. Still I’m just going to let it go but she was aggressive with how she’d move my body or my hair flipping it when it was in her way. I just felt for 85$ and a tip (giving 20% because it’s a service job and I don’t tip less than that) I had a bad taste in my mouth over the experience. Spending 102$ on this experience. I will not go back to another longevity, and will find someone else who will at least be somewhat kind. My neck doesn’t even feel better. I really hate leaving negative reviews because I loved the other 2 times I’d been to the other location. When we were finished she just hands me my water while talking to another employee and didn’t seem to give a crap. So I left. The front desk woman was very kind. I told her it was a good experience however that wasn’t true. I sat in my car for about 10 mins wondering if I should go back in but after seeing the response from the owner on the other review regarding Lora I decided it wasn’t worth it. Since even their reply to her was very rude and accusatory of a local business. So I’ll just be going to a true local therapist next time.

Love having a massage at Longevity on Northshore! I've been going to this location for several years now and never had a bad experience. The massage rooms are quiet and clean. The background music is perfect & very relaxing. Love the steam shower afterwards, nice robes & the overall vibe of this location.
