Seriously disappointed with my appointment yesterday. I was OK with the 10 minute wait before they took me back but then I sat in a gown, in a chilly room, for 36 minutes. The nurse walked in. She said hi and then started talking to her assistant. She asked me to stand and I did, then she QUICKLY checked me over. It was 7:26 PM when she walked in and it was 7:29 PM when she walked out. My entire body scan took less than 3 minutes. She missed my right arm, didn’t look at my ears or face, and never looked at my neck. At the very least, she could've said “sorry to keep you waiting” or “we appreciate your patience” or anything to acknowledge that I’ve been sitting there that long. I just got a “hi.” And, could have, spent a minimum of 10 minutes really looking at my body. Disappointing at best bc I have been a regular patient there for years. If you’re having a bad day, you don’t take it out on your patients. So, when I went to the front desk, gave them my payment, and she said they want to see you back in a year and I said I won’t be back.

I had so many negative experiences with this practice, I don't know where to start. First, the only positive: their admin staff (call center and receptionists, especially the call center supervisor Jamie) were kind, responsive and generally helpful. The clinical staff (PAs, Medical Records) could not have been less helpful. I have a hearing impairment and I use an assistive microphone. The first PA I saw, Alexa McSorley, whipped into the room and talked so fast that, even with my microphone, I could not understand her. After she whipped out of the room again, I left having no idea what she had said or recommended. So I went back and saw Stephanie Carlino. Her rate of speech was better, so I could understand her, but there were definitely no warm-and-fuzzies. I have a difficult-to-diagnose problem, and neither of them showed any curiosity about it. It felt like they were using a generic protocol, a checklist, rather than listening to me. I convinced Stephanie to do a biopsy of one of several areas on my body that have the problem. When it came back with no definitive diagnosis, her suggestions for treatment, such as they were, included a drug I had told her specifically and the practice in general that I am allergic to. So now, on top of feeling dismissed, I felt unsafe. I decided to get a 2nd opinion elsewhere. But their Medical Records department only accepts Release of Information forms by fax. Who has a fax in their home??? I certainly don't. I ended up having the 2nd doctor's office fax my form over to them. In the end, my experience in the 2nd doctor's office, Dermatology Partners in Hockessin, was the polar opposite of what I encountered at Premier Dermatology. It was a medical dermatology practice, so they weren't selling anything as the do at Premier. The office was small, the staff was courteous and personable, and the clinical staff (A DO and a PA) were outstanding. And they had ideas beyond giving me something I don't tolerate to resolve the issue. If you have a problem that doesn't fall into a neat diagnostic category, definitely don't go to Premier Dermatology. Save yourself the stress, time, and money you would be wasting. There is something seriously wrong when a medical office's admin staff is kinder than its clinical staff.

I’ve been going to Premier Dermatology for many years and have had no problems. Rick Brown started approximately 3 years and I have been very happy. Rick is very thorough. I would refer everyone to him .

My family and I have received excellent care here. Always takes the time to explain everything and made me feel completely at ease. Highly recommend.

Since May, I have been dealing with half a dozen skin cancer spots. Rick Brown and his assistants have done the examinations, biopsies, most final removals and hooked me up with Dr Valiga and Dr McIntire to remove a nasty spot on my ear and do that reconstruction. I’m happy to say that unless you knew, you wouldn’t notice where the cuts were. Plus, I never had to wait for an appointment and everyone at PD&CS were friendly and professional. Many thanks from me and I highly recommend Premier.
