New Concept Dental

My experience at New Concept Dental has unfortunately been very disappointing. There seems to be a high staff turnover and little continuity of care. At nearly every visit, I’ve been assigned a different hygienist, and on more than one occasion I’ve been told later that the person I previously saw no longer works there. This makes it difficult to build rapport or feel confident in the consistency of care. At my most recent visit, which ended up being the last straw for me, I was greeted by a hygienist who did not introduce himself until I asked. He was polite and performed the cleaning adequately, but the appointment felt rushed, as though he needed to move quickly to the next patient. I also didn’t receive the usual post-visit supplies. I had previously opted into a program to purchase an Oral-B iO toothbrush and was told I would receive replacement brush heads during future visits. However, each time I ask about this, staff either seem unaware of the program or unsure whether the replacement heads are available. There is always confusion and back-and-forth. The most concerning part of my last visit was waiting for the dentist to come in for the exam. I was told the doctor would be in shortly, but after waiting 40 minutes with no update, I had to get up and find the hygienist myself. He was already assisting another patient. Despite having arrived on time for my 2:30 PM appointment and having a commitment later that afternoon, as 4:00 pm approached, I ultimately had to leave without being examined by the dentist. I was told that since I hadn’t had X-rays done, the exam “wouldn’t matter anyway,” which felt both dismissive and unprofessional. Overall, the practice feels rushed and impersonal, more focused on volume than patient care. I left feeling like just another number rather than a patient whose time and experience mattered. Unfortunately, I will be looking for another dental office and would not recommend this practice based on my experience.

The receptionists, the dentist I saw, and other staff were nice to me and attentive. One gave me a compliment about my positive demeanor. I ended up not going back, and I found a new dentist after my second visit because while a Black, female hygienist, I forgot her name and would not mention it on here, was not rude to me, she shared too much information regarding her family business and her disagreeing with a decision a niece of hers made, and she felt like she was disrespecting her mother. I did not agree, and that was the niece’s business, but I did not say anything because I did not want an argument to occur. She also was too serious when I told her I no longer wore my retainer, I lost it a while ago, and that I was told to wear it for 5 - 10 years by my former orthodontist, which she said people wear them for the rest of their lives. I also noticed the office was fast-paced and maybe had dysfunction and high turnover due to the angry patients giving the receptionists an attitude. There was one Black, middle-aged lady doing that, and I purposely sat far away from her, and I felt bad for the receptionist.

Super friendly and always a good experience. Dr. Lana did an amazing job. 10/10 would recommend!

I can’t say enough good things about this practice. I used to be very stressed about going to previous dentists. I feel comfortable going to New Concept. It is easy to make appointments. Everyone who works there is friendly and caring. They do same appointment crowns. Special shout out to Dr. Waters, Lisa and Loni for a wonderful crown experience today!

Today has been the best experience I have ever had at the dentist. I received two small fillings without a needle. It took less than ten minutes. Dr. Lana did an amazing job. 10/10 recommend! Thank you so much Dr. Lana.
