First State Dental

Today was my second time there. I had an appointment for cleaning and they were so nice. The hygienist took her time to explain everything she was doing, everything I need to do to improve my dental hygiene. I told her I wanted to see the X-rays I did on my first visit, she showed them and explain them. From the front desk to the doctors there everyone is welcoming. I would recommend it to anyone I know. Keep it up First state dental!

I had a very enjoyable experience with Theresa the hygienist. She is very professional, easy to talk to and made me feel comfortable. Dr. Gioffre also was very professional and made me feel comfortable. You can feel the good nature camaraderie between the two, which made me smile. I highly recommend First State Dental for all your dental needs.

I called to reschedule this morning because I had an emergency at work and the receptionist Jennifer was extremely rude. EXTREMELY. She was cutting me off mid sentence stating that I canceled back in November. She stated they sent me an email and when I attempted to retrieve the email and asked her to verify which email they have on file for me she abruptly cut me off again stating “it’s all well and good but we sent a letter via email even if you didn’t receive it.” I don’t mind paying the cancellation fee but it is how it was handled. There is no reason to be rude to anyone first thing in the morning. It made me extremely uncomfortable. She was also rude during my last visit when I needed to get a referral for an orthodontist. She was annoyed that I did not want Invisalign and shoved the paper in my hand. When I got to my car I noticed the referral card was blank. I’m not sure what her issue is, but she is a poor representative for this company.

I honestly cannot believe that all positive reviews are true and honest. This is place is terrible. The schedulers do not care about patients' emergencies. My wife was in the process to get a crown and do an extraction for an implant. The extraction became a need because the tooth was falling off and she was in pain... well: the scheduler even postponed the procedure 2 WEEKS LATER! NO CALLS BACK FOR THE EMERGENCY... Just go to anyone else and you will get a much more professional and sympathetic service.

Had a visit with Dr. Chen today. He was able to fit me in on short notice and both he and his nurse were fantastic. Both lovely and competent people who explained the procedures in advance and then carried them out without a hitch or an ounce of pain. I’m 85 and this is the first dentist I have liked!
