JoHannah Macbeth, LMT and Reflexology (Aromatherapy + Certified Pregnancy Massage)

Amazing! JoHannah is the most intuitive bodyworker I've ever had the chance to be healed by! I love how she combines her deepening knowledge of Chinese Medicine and acupuncture with what she senses in the body. Her application of reflexology as a seamless gift within the massage experience is another treat. Her respect for the client has always been there and shines through now in COVID times -- adjusting to the comfort level & having open conversation. I learn SO MUCH about my body every time we have a session.

For years I have been continually impressed by JoHannah’s expansive skill set and knowledgeable approach. With her help I was able to navigate the physical discomfort of pregnancy and address the stress of giving birth during a pandemic. Throughout my pregnancy she structured our regular sessions to safely focus on the regular discomforts of pregnancy (lower back pain, shifting postural strain, stress relief, etc). Additionally, I was working toward a VBAC (vaginal birth after cesarean) and JoHannah was an integral part of my care team, along with my Midwife, Doula and Acupuncturist. As the Covid-19 pandemic escalated, my team began dropping like flies with increased restrictions for businesses and hospitals. My due date came and went, and JoHannah became the only person I was able to work with in person. She adapted her approach to focus on my needs at every turn. In the final weeks she tailored treatments to include aromatherapy and reflexology/acupressure to help induce labor at my request. After our sessions I would take my daily walk and feel contractions, and within 36 hours of our first targeted treatment, I was having regular contractions that mitigated my scheduled induction. In the end, I was able to deliver vaginally with minimal intervention and no injury. I can confidently say I would not have been as physically or mentally prepared without the thoughtful work of this truly brilliant and compassionate healer.
