Fortson Dermatology & Skin Care Center

Appointments are always on time no waiting in the waiting room. Once in the medical room no long waits there either. Dr. Fortson is a caring compassionate Dr which is hard to find these days. She’s very good at her job. I have referred numerous people to her and all had extremely good out comes. Her assistant is very pleasant helpful and friendly. I strongly recommend Dr Fortson as your dermatologist. She’s been serving Alaska residents for many, many years.

Would probably be 3 stars, Dr. Fortson was nice, but not a great listener, typical Doctor. The staff pushed thier skin care products, and really expensive sunblocks. The last two stars came off because they said they accepted my insurance, well before my appointment. Then came the $275 dollar bill, for less than 10min of Dr. Fortson time.

Dr. Fortson was so knowledgeable and addressed my concerns same day. I will be going back to her for other concerns. I’ve also had a few tattoo removal sessions and am very pleased with the removal progress. The entire staff of helpful and kind.

Total waste of time and money. Do not recommend. Went in for 3 spots on my abdomen and a corn on the bottom of my toe. Doctor comes in, "I don't know what these spots are. Let's try this cream. Okay, I'm going to shave down your corn, let's call it a wart, maybe its a corn." No more than 3 minutes later. "Okay, i shaved some skin off, I think you'll be good for awhile. That will be $518 for the procedure." Its just sickening. $518 for 3 minutes of sanding my skin down. I do this weekly to try to solve this problem and I do a better job. I could have paid $40 for a pedicure and gotten the same thing done PLUS my nails clipped. And you know, she didn't even ask if I wanted her to sand my skin down, OR tell me the price, OR TELL ME THAT SHE CANT FIX THE PROBLEM AND I JUST HAVE TO MANAGE MY CORN THE REST OF MY LIFE until after she charges me $518 to sand my skin down for 3 minutes. But she did make sure to have her nurse (who was very professional and friendly) try and sell me all kinds of overpriced skin creams cutely wrapped in holiday cheer. I definitely picked up on negative energy with the doctor and imagine all of her staff have to tip toe around to make her happy. Very unsatisfied. Never going back.

Dr. Fortson and her team is amazing! I always receive personal and attentive care by everyone in the office. This is the best practice in town and has the best skincare products!
