Rick Lothrop Massage and Bodywork

Wow! One of the best massages I’ve ever received. Rick asked really good curious questions prior to understand my specific needs and he was very intentional in his communication. I had a lot going on and he was a great resource offering stretching and techniques for how I could heal at home. The massage methods were a unique combination of different styles and were exactly what I needed. Rick is clearly intuitive and well trained. Highly recommend for someone looking for deep body work. Bonus is that his space was super calming and relaxing despite the fighter jets flying above. I live several hours away but will be making the trip back to work with Rick again.

Rick is experienced, talented, and intuitive. By far the best massage I’ve gotten ever! He has extensive knowledge of the muscles, knots, and pressure points; he was working through tissue while stretching and adjusting my body in a way that allowed for maximum tension release. Rick also makes sure to check in with you to see your comfort level, opinion on the heat, and whether to apply more pressure or not. On top of his craft being so good the atmosphere is also fantastic. The problem with many massage parlors in the Burlington area is traffic or creaking from floorboards, located in the Chase Mill on the bottom floor neither of those were a factor (both of which usually take me out of the serenity of a massage). Lastly Rick was a very kind and helpful masseuse. After the massage he fielded questions and demonstrated some stretches to help me recover between now and my next massage. I will definetly be coming back!

Rick is amazing. I’ve seen many massage therapist over the years and Rick is a cut above the rest. Rick starts the appointments by creating space to address any concerns or goals for the session. There’s also a very calm and inviting energy in the room, which makes it one of a very few places I can actually relax. I’ve had chronic lower back pain for 7yrs and residual stiffness from bad posture and remodeling my home. Each time I’ve left with better mobility and significantly less pain. It is clear that Rick takes pride in work and cares for his clients. Highly recommend!

I recently relocated to Burlington and was hoping to find a massage therapist to help with sport-related issues of plantar fasciitis, piriformis syndrome, and a fractured rib. From the moment I walked in Rick's studio, I felt a sense of deep peace wash over me. Rick listened attentively to and intentionally attended to my concern areas throughout the massage. He is professional, highly skilled, and generous with his time and insight. It is also evident that he truly cares for his clients' well-being. I am eager to return for another session, which was truly a transcendent experience.

Rick was amazing. I’ve been having a chronic tightness in my right trap area and Rick took my concern seriously. It felt intentional of trying to release the pain versus a routine massage. He even provided me with suggestions on how to help with might be causing and other stretching methods I could do to help it down the line. I will be going back!
