The website says that they just relocated, but from previous reviews it seems that they’ve been located in this building for some time now. We had an hour and a half couples massage along with a 30 minute head spa. Upon stepping out of the elevator, you’re greeting with an empty, under-renovation room. Then you walk down the hallway and push the doorbell — someone walks around the counter of the registration desk and waves us through. Upon entering registration, there were at least 5-6 people all in the registration area — none of these individuals were the masseuses or the people who did the head spa. We were sent through a door and told to go to the right into the waiting room. Once in the waiting room — it’s kind of bright and dead silent. No tranquil music or anything. We were ushered to the massage room where there were three beds with dollar general throw blankets on top of them. The room was also dim, but not very private and the windows weren’t covered fully. The tables themselves are the most uncomfortable slab I’ve ever laid on. The head rest kept shifting under my head. Both of our massages were subpar. It felt like the individuals doing the massages had just gotten out of school and this was their first time massaging someone. Barely any pressure applied and didn’t feel professional. Then we get to the head spa. The people conducting the spa session, at least the one who did mine, barely scratched or rubbed my head. There were 7-8 products applied to my hair, with three scratches on the top and sides of my head and then rinsed. Every time they applied a product, rubbed it in for two seconds, then rinsed it and brushed my hair while it was under the water. We were asked if someone could come in and watch them perform the head spa, we obliged. They were whispering behind my head and giggling. I’m not sure what the girl was learning other than how to whisper, giggle, and wash someone’s hair. The water device was not powerful and it was a bit cold. We were walked back to the registration area (you’re basically walking around a maze the whole time) and the same amount of people, that were there when we came in two hours prior, were STILL sitting around the room. Overall, not a great experience and definitely not what we were expecting. I will say, I was trying to keep a positive attitude about the state of “renovation” that the building is in but the more I saw, the less confident I was in the quality of service.

I absolutely love going to Serendipity! From being greeted by the lovely faces at the front desk to the individual providing the services, everyone is so kind and down to earth. I have gotten a brow tint and eyelash extensions recently and I love them, I left feeling so beautiful! I plan on getting more services done in the near future and strongly encourage you to do the same for your beauty needs. I feel they are reasonably priced, too, so please check them out.

My first experience at this spa was less than desirable. I booked a facial with dermaplaning expecting to leave with the skin of a thousand newborn babies — smooth, radiant, glowing like I drink water and mind my business. Instead, my face was shaved like it had violated probation. I’m fairly certain the “dermaplaning tool” was an eyebrow razor from the clearance bin at a pharmacy. The sound alone aged me three years. Now, a rational person would not return. I, however, have never met a red flag I couldn’t romanticize. So a year later, my bestie and I booked the Valentine’s Day special: head massage/facial, blowout, and a murder podcast. Self-care meets true crime? Say less! Except the murder podcast never entered the chat. When I asked about it, I was told they don’t play it during head massage services because “the water is too loud.” Totally fair. But maybe don’t advertise it like we’re getting Spa Day: SVU Edition. Speaking of water. When that head massage ended, my sweatshirt was soaked down my spine like I had just been rescued from a shipwreck. My left ear received what I can only describe as tactical waterboarding. I haven’t heard a full sentence on that side since. If someone whispers “self-care” near me, I might flinch. The facial? Mine was… present. My bestie, however, is 93% certain her esthetician simply hovered over her face and manifested results. And then. The blowout. I thought I would get effortless volume. I left looking like Barbara Walters was about to interview me about a political scandal in 1998. I half expected a newsroom chyron to appear under my chin. Meanwhile, my bestie was struck in the head with the blow dryer like she owed it money. Now let me be clear — the estheticians themselves were very sweet girls. Kind. Polite. Soft-spoken angels. This review is not about their personalities. It’s about the fact that we survived a spa-themed obstacle course. Two visits. Two separate plotlines. Zero relaxation. The only murder that occurred was the assassination of our peace. I came for glow. I left with trauma and a middle part I did not consent to. And so, with love and light… we need to see other people. Please don’t text. Don’t call. It’s not me, it’s you!

I bought massage hair wash and cut and style facial pedicure and hour massage for my fiancé for her birthday. She expressed how nice the staff was but how she would not ever go back. She said there was hair all over the floor when she got her hair cut like they just left it there for weeks. She said they pulled someone else’s hair out of a brush and then used it in her right in front of her. She said there was wires everywhere hanging and every outlet had surge protectors overloaded to the max. I picked them because their prices seemed reasonable but now I wish I would have just spent the extra money and I feel like I let her down.

I would not recommend this business, especially if you are from out of town. My husband and I booked a 2:00 pm couples massage and were really looking forward to it. The confirmation we received only listed the date and time — no address. When the appointment day came, I used the address that appears for Serendipity Spa and Salon on Apple Maps. When we arrived, there was no visible entrance and no way to get into the building. I called the salon and was placed on hold while continuing to search for an entrance. When someone finally came back on the line, I was told that I was at the wrong location and that they had not been at that address for two years. I’m not sure why that address is still associated with the business online, but as someone unfamiliar with the area, I had no way of knowing this. By the time I was given the “correct” address, we were already about 10 minutes into our appointment and still 10 minutes away. I asked if it was possible to reschedule given the situation, and I was told no, and that we would be charged $50 to reschedule because it was already appointment time — despite the fact that the delay was caused by incorrect location information. We arrived about 30 minutes late and were given no accommodation, no apology, and no discount. After waiting another few minutes, we were taken back for our massage, leaving us with about 25 minutes of what was supposed to be a $110, one-hour massage. When asked about pressure, I requested deep pressure and was told that would be an additional $10 per person. I declined and asked for regular medium pressure. Unfortunately, the massage consisted of little more than oil being spread on my body with almost no pressure or technique. It did not feel like a professional massage experience at all. Overall, this was extremely disappointing. Between the incorrect address, lack of communication, refusal to reschedule without a fee, shortened service, and poor-quality massage, the entire experience felt careless and unprofessional. There was no accountability, no empathy, and no effort to make things right. Save your money and look elsewhere.
