Lavish Hair Studio and Spa

I have been receiving services from Lavish since 2018 and I couldn't be happier! I was recommended Colleen for my wedding day makeup as well as Kristi for my wedding day hairstyling. Both were phenomenal. I have since continued to see Colleen once a month or so for esthetics services. This is despite living in Lincoln; the services are totally worth the drive! The skincare treatments leave my glowing, the eyelash lift keeps my lengthy lashes in amazing/gorgeous shape, and the atmosphere is SO relaxing. Collen truly listens to my skincare concerns and fine tunes the treatment to get the outcome I'm looking for. She has a heart of gold and amazing playlists (such a bonus!). The salon is clean, inviting, the staff are pretty good at knowing whether you are a "talker" or not, which I truly appreciate (hint, I'm not a talker lol). Pricing is expected/reasonable and, as with any treatment, you get what you pay for. 10/10 would (and do) recommend!

I’ve debated posting this because I really didn’t want to speak negatively about someone—especially someone who owns a local small business I actually love. But I’m still upset, even after getting my hair corrected by someone else, and I think it’s important to share. Doug also owns the candle shop called Eleven Three, which I love—and that’s how I found him for hair. I hadn’t had a haircut in years and was really hoping to have a positive experience. Unfortunately, it ended up being really upsetting. Doug gave me layers without asking, and when I tried to talk to him about it afterward, he insisted it was what we had agreed on—even though it absolutely wasn’t. Instead of listening, he talked over me and explained how he would fix it—when I no longer felt comfortable letting him touch my hair again. The goal of my appointment was simple: just a trim to clean up the dead ends. My hair was super long, and I was intentionally growing it out. My hair is everything to me—it’s not just hair. It’s part of my identity, something I loved very, very much. And what I left with was nothing close to what I asked for. The cut left me devastated. I cried for two weeks straight and have continued feeling self-conscious and upset since April. I couldn’t even look in the mirror without feeling frustrated. Eventually, I did my research and found a new stylist. I communicated with her for a while before booking, and she was kind, understanding, and explained everything she planned to do in advance. When I finally saw her in person, her reaction confirmed everything I was feeling. She said Doug got “scissor happy,” the layers were uneven, and there were random short pieces with no consistency in length. Her words were, “I don’t know what he did,” and she did her best to correct it—but the damage was obvious. I really wanted this to go well, but it was one of the worst haircut experiences I’ve had. I wouldn’t recommend Doug based on how I was treated or the outcome of my appointment.

Getting a HyrdaFacial from Colleen wasn't just a skincare treatment but a total recharge for my face, confidence, and soul. There was a quiet magic in her space: serene and softly lit, a little oasis tucked away from the outside world. Before starting, Colleen took the time to carefully assess my skin, asking thoughtful questions about my routine and goals, tailoring the experience specifically to me. The treatment itself was both deeply relaxing and incredibly effective. Colleen was incredibly attentive and caring always describing what was happening, making sure I was comfortable. Her warm, hilarious personality kept the mood light and fun, making me feel completely at ease and truly special. When I looked in the mirror, I could hardly believe it. My skin looked radiant, incredibly smooth, and totally glowing. My pores had all but disappeared and that natural glow left me feeling confident and amazing for days after. This session with Colleen had me feeling like a million bucks and I walked out feeling genuinely uplifted, inside and out.

Faith at Lavish was fantastic. The salon was clean and relaxing just the environment I love! I would recommend her to anyone who wants a professional color and haircut! No more gray hair :) I can’t wait to go back.

Kristi is amazing! I originally wrote a rough review due to one of the artists, and while I still wouldn’t recommend the individual artist, the management really cares. They refunded me and showed me they cared how my hair turned out. Thank you Kristi for being so caring and making me feel heard after an unfortunate experience!!!
