Utah Eyelid and Facial Plastic Surgery

Dr. Marx was very thorough in his examination and explanations of the diagnoses, what would be done during surgery, and the recovery. For someone that has had a lot of eye muscle surgeries, this was one of my easiest surgeries. I went from my eyelids drooping so much that I’m sure people thought I was about to fall asleep at any moment to looking bright eyed and refreshed. My overall vision improved, especially my peripheral vision. I was very careful to follow the post-op and recovery instructions Dr. Marx and his team provided. I was a little hesitant about whether to use the goggles or not and I am so glad I did. Very little pain after surgery, bruising and swelling seamed minimal. Recovery seamed faster too. When I reached my 70's I developed moderate ptosis in both eyelids. The condition affected my peripheral vision and reduced my eyes ability to get enough light to see clearly, especially at night. My dermatologist advised that I have this condition addressed by an oculoplastic surgeon. My OD referred my to Dr. Douglas Marx at Utah Facial Plastic Surgery where I scheduled a consultation. I had a very good experience. The staff was most helpful in evaluating my condition and providing me with answers to my questions. Dr. Marx provided his recommendation for a surgical option (Mullerectomy) that would best remedy my ptosis. He was very personable, patient, and thorough in describing the procedure and recovery that gave me confidence in proceeding. My surgery was scheduled. Dr. Marx met with me before and after the procedure. It went quickly. The surgical center also did an excellent job in providing pre- and post-op care. There were follow-up contacts from Dr. Marx and staff to ensure healing conditions and care were as expected. Everything went very well and the experience was a very good one for me. I completed a 3 month follow-up with Dr. Marx in his office and everything looks great. My before and after photos are very convincing. I have much better peripheral vision and I can see much better at night. I highly recommend Dr. Marx for this type of surgery, based on my experience, and would not hesitate to consult with him on any other related facial surgery.

Dr. Marx was amazing and professional. And his staff is friendly and helpful. I highly recommend Dr. Marx. I could hardly see at night and blepharoplasty has given my confidence back to drive and being around people and I look more awake, happier and I still feel like myself but better.
