I recently graduated from AMT and had a great overall experience! I took the all-day Monday class, which worked best for my schedule. Charlie is clearly meant to be a teacher—he has a strong passion for passing down his knowledge of massage therapy to others. He has built a beautiful school and clearly put a great deal of hard work into it. Charlie always took the time to answer my questions thoroughly and encouraged my growth. I could tell he always genuinely wanted to ensure I fully understood his explanations before moving on. I’m giving 4 stars instead of 5 because my experience with the morning instructor was unfortunately subpar. While she is knowledgeable about the body and its systems, delivering information is not the same as teaching it. An instructor can present facts, but a teacher actively supports understanding, fosters confidence, and nurtures growth. In my experience, she often appeared annoyed when I asked questions, provided unbalanced hands-on time between rotations, and offered feedback that was deficit-focused—pointing out only what needed improvement without balancing it with positive reinforcement. On one of my practical evaluation forms, the section for “List two things you liked about the massage” was left blank—and nowhere else on the form did she provide any positive feedback. I believe instructors should be required to include at least one specific positive remark on every evaluation form so students leave knowing what they’re doing well in addition to what needs improvement. When you’re paying for an education, it’s reasonable to expect that both your learning and your confidence are actively supported. Without that balance, feedback can feel more critical than constructive, discouraging both learning and motivation. Several of my classmates shared these same sentiments, some of which were communicated to Charlie, but no meaningful or lasting changes followed. While this may not be the experience for every student, I think it’s important for future students to know that instructor styles can vary greatly, and not all may offer the same level of support and inspiration. Overall, this is still a very reasonably priced education for the value you receive. I would recommend AMT to others seeking massage therapy training in this area—with the note that your experience may vary depending on your assigned instructor.

I just graduated from AMT, and am already booking up with starting my own business and picking up side work. I’ve been working right out the gate, because I feel confident in the techniques I’ve learned. During my injury practice massages, I helped facilitate healing for injuries, which really gave me such a sense of purpose. I feel supported by Charlie and his amazing staff. They all go above and beyond to make sure that you get the most of this education and experience. Charlie’s assistant Ron, mentored me with my posture until it became damn near perfect. I loved that Charlie adds classes to show a few different modalities of massage. I experienced and got a glimmer of reiki, lymphatic drainage, Jin shin jyutsiu, and muscle testing. The classes were challenging enough to be rewarding for someone that needs extra mental stimulation. I doubled up on Deep Tissue and Injury classes my last semester, and I was absolutely never bored! AMT makes learning addictive and FUN, I will miss going to class everyday!! Charlie allows all AMT graduates to come back and go through the whole program or any class, anytime for free. To me, this proves that he genuinely cares about his students. I will be returning for refreshers.

As a graduate from AMT in 2019, this is hands down the best training anyone can receive. I moved to Massachusetts a few years ago and started my own practice. The number one feedback has always been "Wow, I've never received a massage like that before!", and I couldn't help but be perplexed as to why and how? It wasn't until I recently went to get continuing education as a Medical Massage Practitioner that I completely understand. Now, before I start sounding like a know it all, I want to be quite clear that I really had no idea that the training that Charlie, and all the other instructors at AMT, provide is above and beyond what other schools teach. I have a medical career background prior to Massage Therapy, so I thought I was taking a very advanced course due to the verbiage of the certification. While I was attending these classes, I was personally disappointed in the fact that I, legit, already knew all of the techniques they were showing. If I'm being completely honest, I felt like they left out a lot of vital information when it comes to treating certain conditions. EVERYONE in these classes seemed mind blown like they had no idea massage could be done in this type of manner. Even the instructor, who is a Massachusetts native, even said she was practicing for 13 years before she found these classes and they changed her entire approach.... Charlie teaches these techniques (and SO MANY MORE) in more depth and understanding in his Injury Assessment semester. Granted, I now have a fancy (and expensive) piece of paper that says Medical Massage Practitioner that I can present to others who are unfamiliar with my core training, but I can assure anyone that I am beyond confident and know a tremendous amount more than what those classes taught. So if you've graduated from here, and you see the Ads in the Massage Magazines about Medical Massage Practitioner... save yourself a lot of money... unless you just really want the piece of paper... I promise, Charlie trained you better. I wish I could give 10 stars. P.S. I don't know who the person is that gave a 1 star and said Charlie was cocky (I literally chuckled), but Charlie is amazing. Hands down very patient, professional, beyond knowledgeable, and always goes above and beyond for his students. I had an awful time with getting my license in Massachusetts and Charlie did everything he could to help me in the process. He continues to be my mentor and I know I can call him anytime for help and guidance. P.S.S. To the other bad review about how much it costs to go to school here (I really laughed). Charlie needs to charge WAY MORE for his school with the skills he teaches.
