Wife and I have always had a very pleasant time whenever we are at Doctor Bunkenshire scheduled appointments. She listens and shows concern for her patients. I seriously believe that Doctor Bunkenshire saved my life by discovering a clogged artery that other doctors were unable to see based off on symptoms that I was experiencing Not sure if she is religious but, may God Bless her 🙏🏻 and if Memphis really knew about how lucky we are of having Dc Bunkenshire to be taking care of our citizens Thank you 🙏🏻

The DNP Nia Miller was rude and only spent about 3 minutes in the room with me. She didn't explain the test she was ordering until I asked... and by then she had one foot out the door. She only referred to the test with an acronym. Going to a neurologist for he first time is scary. I would've appreciated better bed side manner. Especially after waiting 2 months to get in to see someone.

Dr Natarajan is the most arrogant, rude, unprofessional, ineffective person in this office. He performed a nerve test on me where he walked in the room and began stabbing me wildly with needles. The nurse assisting him looked horrified at his rude bedside manor and lack of empathy. After a plethora of tests his final review was....Could you be depressed?!? I'm experiencing nerve pain, sir, and you came away with an expensive response as FREAKING DEPRESSION. RUN, do not allow this guy to perform any procedure on you. I would not recommend him to an enemy.

I met Dr. Natarajan once in the entire five years I've been being treated here. His first words to me were that we could rule out a brain bleed, tumor, and meningitis, because if my daily migraines were caused by one of those things I'd, quote, "be dead by now." I understand that that's a true statement, but not very comforting. Hearing that if it was something more serious, I would've died while on their six-month waiting list was NOT something I was thrilled to hear -- especially upon first meeting. Immediately after that, I was handed off to his nurse practitioner, Amanda Humbers. She no longer works at this practice, and they're better for it. For four years, I attended appointments at three month intervals, told each time that she wasn't sure what to make of my symptoms (which remained unchanged between each appointment) and that she "needed to do some research" before our next appointment. Only for me to be fed the same script upon our next meeting. Instead of transferring me back to someone who DID know what to make of my symptoms, I was pushed to the back of the line to be dealt with later. Over and over again. Only when I suggested a course of treatment did anything new happen; when my medications stopped preventing migraines, I would have to be the one to suggest switching to a new one -- her solution seemed to be to wait and see if they started working again (they never did). When my abortive meds stopped working and I defaulted to OTC painkillers, I was scolded for using them, and told they'd cause rebound headaches, instead of a new abortive medication being prescribed. Whenever I would highlight a particularly distressing symptom, such as dizziness, nausea, lethargy, brain fog, I would be sent to a separate specialist instead of Mrs. Humbers addressing the root cause. Repeatedly, I was referred back to my GP for blood tests, only for Memphis Neurology to never send the order. It would fall to me to call my GP and ask them to request the orders from Memphis Neuro; rarely would that even be efficient in convincing them to send the order in at all. At no point in my treatment was imaging of any kind brought up by Mrs. Humbers. After being sent to a cardiologist (roughly two years into treatment), I was asked when my last MRI, CT, EEG, etc were. When I told her that I'd never had imaging done, I was told, "that's the FIRST thing I would've done." The cardiologist then sent a request to Memphis Neurology for them to schedule me for an MRI. Only then did I receive one. Today, I had an appointment with Dr. Natarajan's new nurse practitioner, Ayanna Nia Miller. I was hopeful that, since this was a new face, I might receive different care. And I did -- but not for the better. During our entire interaction, Mrs. Miller looked at me once, briefly, when she first walked into the room. Then I think she glanced my way when leaving. Other than that, it was as if I wasn't there at all. Throughout the appointment, she spoke out loud, seemingly to herself -- it certainly wasn't for my benefit, or to initiate a dialogue. When the rare question was asked, she wouldn't acknowledge my response, and when I spoke up to provide additional information about my treatment that she wouldn't find in my chart, there would be no reaction from her to indicate she even heard me. Towards the end of my appointment when she told me how we'd be proceeding, she did so without explaining anything, without asking if I had any questions or concerns about it, without asking for my input at all. I was asked if I had anymore information FOR HER, but was at no point invited to ask for any for myself. She did prescribe me a different abortive medication, to her credit, but that was the only positive thing to come from this interaction. Aside from the medical staff, it is exceedingly difficult to get in touch with the practice in any way, whether to schedule/reschedule an appointment, to request medication refills, anything. Phones are rarely answered, emails even more rarely. I'm fed up. I will not be going back to this practice.
